The Silk Road frameset was designed by the same people who designed the Silk Road Pro. The material is the same – 3AL 2.5V titanium.
Straight gauge tubing, non integrated headset and a little less profiling are all features. It’s a semi compact design with a slightly longer head tube than the ‘pro. Frankly, it’s more of an all rounder. So if you’re a second cat (or a third or a first or a fourth or an elite) who will be using the same bike for the local club ten as a trip out to the etape via your local road race, this is the bike for you.
In fact (and please, keep this under your hat) one of the KFS / Sunday Bicycles team uses one instead of the Silk Road Pro in the premier calendar he likes it so much. You see that’s really the point of Sunday: Enjoying a day out on the bike, no matter what your ride will entail.
