Front lights serve two functions: they let you see where you're going and let other road users see you. LED lights are efficient so the batteries last for a long time. They will let other people see you but only the brightest will throw off enough light for you to see your way along a dark road. Single or dual lamps with separate rechargeable battery packs produce a beam bright enough for country roads and other very dark areas.
