Our Winter frames and forks have always been a favourite with keen cyclists for training in the winter months and of course commuting and touring with 'guards.

The new 'DC07' is our latest fork specifically designed to work with larger winter tyres [will take a 28 no problem] and full size guards. This fork was developed to work with our Racelight T2 and Tk2 winter training frames, and has complimentary graphics, but is an excellent upgrade for an existing training, touring or Audax bike.

The alloy crown has good clearance, the 3k carbon blades are deep section with eyeletted forged alloy dropouts. It is suitable for long drop [47-57mm] brakes. 11/8" alloy steerer for integrated headset.

With the horizontal ‘Swopouts’ fitted, the Convert2 frame can be stripped back to basics and run as a fixie. The Spyre offered good power, with decent modulation. My bike set up with the Spyres had zero issues with fade, and even after really hard braking, were quiet and drag free.
…the feel is good, better than single-sided mechanical brakes and with better rotor clearance.
What’s most impressive is they were able to solve the key issue with standard mechanical disc brakes and come in considerably lighter than what else is out there.
And they’re comparatively cheap.

About Disc Brakes - A disc brake consists of a metal disc attached to the wheel hub that rotates with the wheel. Callipers are attached to the frame or fork along with pads that squeeze together on the disc. A bicycle disc brake may be mechanically actuated, as with a Bowden cable, or hydraulically actuated, or a combination of the two. Disc brakes are used mainly on mountain bikes ridden off-road, but sometimes on Road Bikes, hybrid bicycles and touring bicycles. A disc brake can also be employed as a drag brake. Disc brakes tend to perform equally well in all conditions including water, mud, and snow due to several factors: 1) The braking surface is farther from the ground and possible contaminants like mud which can coat or freeze on the rim and pads. 2) Disc brake pads when fully retracted ride much closer to the braking surface than rim brake pads.This better prevents a buildup of water or debris under the pad. 3) There are holes in the rotor, providing a path for water and debris to get out from under the pads. 4) Wheel rims tend to be made of lightweight metal. Brake discs and pads are harder and can accept higher maximum loads. Unlike most rim brake designs, disc brakes are compatible with bicycle suspensions

About Road Frames - Road frames, also known as a racing frames, is a frame designed for competitive road cycling. The most important characteristics about a racing frame are its weight and stiffness which determine the efficiency at which the power from a rider's pedal strokes can be transferred to the drive-train and subsequently to its wheels. To this effect racing frames may sacrifice comfort for speed. The drop handlebars are positioned lower than the saddle in order to put the rider in a more aerodynamic posture. About Carbon - Carbon fibre, a composite material, is an increasingly popular non-metallic material commonly used for bicycle frames. Although expensive, it is light-weight, corrosion-resistant and strong, and can be formed into almost any shape desired. The result is a frame that can be fine-tuned for specific strength where it is needed (to withstand pedaling forces), while allowing flexibility in other frame sections (for comfort). Custom carbon fiber bicycle frames may even be designed with individual tubes that are strong in one direction (such as laterally), while compliant in another direction (such as vertically). About Bar Ends - bar ends are extensions at the ends of the bicycle handlebars. Usually fitted onto mountain bikes with straight handlebars, they extend away from the handlebars and allow the rider to vary the type of grip and posture that they use during a ride. They are especially effective when climbing out of the saddle, because they increase leverage. About Aerobars - Triathlon bars or aerobars include various styles of aerodynamic handlebars for racing bicycles and particularly time trial bicycles. Included are narrow, bolt-on extensions that draw the body forward into a tucked position, pursuit bars that spread the arms of the rider but drops the torso into a slightly lower position, and integrated units that combine elements of both designs. Triathlon bars are commonly used in triathlons and time trial events on road and track. However, they are illegal in most mass start road races or any other event where drafting is permitted because, while aerodynamically advantageous, they tend to draw the hands away from brakes, make the rider slightly more unstable on the bike, and can be dangerous in the event of an accident. Further, they are not useful in sprints or shorter climbs where power is of greater importance than aerodynamics. Specialized shift levers (known as bar-end shifters) do exist that can be installed on some triathlon bars so that they can be reached without moving the hands from the aerodynamic position. The complementary brake levers in this handlebar configuration are placed in the ends of the accompanying pursuit bars. Aero bars are a recent addition to road racing time trials, with Greg LeMond first using them in the 1989 Tour de France. In a controversial time trial on the final day, LeMond used them to beat yellow jersey wearer Laurent Fignon by 58 seconds, changing a 50 second deficit into an 8 second lead. Fignon protested at the use of these bars but was unsuccessful.
