Hybrid bikes are bicycles designed for general-purpose or commuter cycling on paved and unpaved roads, paths, and trails. They can also be known as a City bike or Commuter bike, the hybrid takes design features from both a road and mountain bike, with the goal of making a robust bike for general commuting and transportation. In general, hybrids use the mountain bike's triple chainset, disc or v-brakes together with the mtb bars allowing for a more upright position than found on a road bike, making them great for city and leisure use. They utilize a 700C wheel diameter for higher speeds, but use a wider rim and tyre for increased strength when used on cobbles or for light trail use.
